castle rockCastle Rock rises almost 200' above the surrounding area offering breathtaking views. The rock rises like an ancient castle of the middle ages. It features a view of Mackinac Island, Lake Huron and the surrounding area. Take your picture alonside Paul Bunyan and Babe - his blue ox. Although the rock itself is not handicap accessible, the gift shop is. Open daily at 9:00 am, early May thru mid-October. 3 miles north of St. Ignace on Business Loop I-75 or I-75 Exit 348. Bus tours are welcome, but please call ahead. Stop by and check out our view.

OUR GIFT SHOP Castle Rock's unique gift shop features a birch bark ceiling and walls hand crafted by local Native Americans in the early 1950's. Souvenirs include: T-shirts, glassware, toys, books, and jewelry. You're sure to find something for everyone at Castle Rock.

Castle Rock is considered to be one of the oldest lookout points near the city of St. Ignace, and was known as "Pontiac's Lookout" by the Ojibwa Tribe. Clarence Eby opened Castle rock for tourists in 1929. It has remained a popular tourist destination ever since. The "Rock" rises an astonishing 195 feet above water level and about 183 feet above I-75. The summit of Castle Rock offers a scenic and inspiring view for up to 20 miles, featuring Mackinac Island, Lake Huron, downtown St. Ignace, and wildlife habitat. The lookout point is equipped with viewing binoculars for a truly spectacular view of the area. This is one attraction that is family friendly and pet safe.

MAP - LOCATION & DIRECTIONS - After crossing the Mackinac Bridge, continue North on I-75 about 4 miles to Exit 348. Exit the highway and turn left directly into the Castle Rock parking lot.
